I looked in the mirror at my frilly blue shirt and jeans mini skirt. I hoped everything would go fine tonight, because i didn't need anything bad happening. I heard a knock on my door and ran over to open it, hoping it was Sora, but to see my best friend Dayma and her boyfriend Chris, who was standing in front of Roxas.
"Hey girl!" she said, hugging me. "We wanted t come get you before we go to Kairis party so we can all go together."
"Thanks," I said, closing my door and walking with them. We let Roxas and Chris walk further in front of us so we could talk.
"Did you talk to Sora?" she asked me.
"No, I wasn't even close to telling him," I admitted pitifully. She sighed.
"Really, girl, you're never gonna get him if you don't say anything," she answered. I covered my face slightly.
"I know that," I said, fixing my hair. "But wat if he doesn't feel the same and stops being my friend? I mean it would be a little awkward if he knew I loved him."
"It just depends if you're willing to rick it," she said. "Rememeber when I said I liked Chris but I was scared he wouldn't? Well, he liked me back, and we've been friends as long as you and Sora."
"I'm not as pretty as you are, though," I said. She blushed. She was embarrased when people called her beautiful or pretty.
"Come on, guys!" Roxas called over to us. We hurried up behind them and we approached Kairis house. Music was coming from the place. Roxas opened the door and Kairi came thrusted out of a crowd of people.
"Hey!" she said breathlessly. "Glad you guys could come. Come on in and get something."
We entered the house and I looked around. I knew pretty much everyone there, and quickly spotted Sora with Riku, Tidus, and Wakka. He was laughing, his smile stretching his face. I smiled and blushed. He saw me and waved over to me.
"Namine!" he called. I was blushing furiously and grabbed Dayma.
"You're coming with me," I whispered in her ear. She followed me over to him.
"Hey," I said, feeling awkward, standing around all those boys.
"See? I knew you'd come," he teased. I did the little face that he loved where I tryed to keep a straight face and smile. He imitated it. I laughed.
"Hey, Dayma," he said, waving at her. She waved back. Kairi got up on a stage in the room and took a microphone off the stand.
"Ok, everyone," she said, her voice echoing. "It's time for out singing show. Anyone can participate. Let's get some people."
"Namine, you should do it!" Sora shouted. "You wrote that new song and you have the cd, right? You should sing it. You sound good."
"Yeah, Namine," said Riku. My stomach did a backflip as they said that. Dayma grabbed my hand and pulled me over to the stage.
"Whoa, what are you doing?" I asked, jerking myself out of her grip.
"Come on, Namine," she said. "Maybe Sora would like it."
I fell silent and put a determind look on my face. I hadn't sung that song for a while, so this is a good chance. I took the cd out of my purse that I always had and went over to Kairi.
"Can you play this on the stereo?" I asked, handing it to her. "It's my song, it's the music, number 4."
"Ok, sweet," she said, putting it in the stereo and than to the stage.
"We have a participent," she said into the mic. "A friend of mine, Namine! With her song, "Then I woke Up!"
Everyone cheered as I walked on the stage. Kairi wished me luck and pressed play. I let the music play, waiting for the cue to sing.
"Go, Namine!" Sora shouted from the crowd, clapping. Everyone laughed and I giggled. The cue came, and I felt my voice rush through my throat. The words were perfect and I tryed to hit every note. Soon, I had the mic off the stand and in my hand, running up and down the stage, jumping on the tips of my feet, feeling complete happiness as I finished the song. Everyone cheered loudly and when I jumped off, I was immediantly joined by Sora, Dayma, Roxas, Chris, Riku, Wakka, and Tidus.
"That was amazing!" Sora shouted, pulling me into a one armed hug. I blushed and looked at Roxas. He nudged his thumb on my chin.
"You did good," he said, smiling. I felt my heart melt and hugged him. I didn't know why, but Roxas seemed like the person that I should like. I looked up at him and kissed him, smack on his lips. Everyone around us wolf whistled and Dayma laughed herself hoarse. I knew Sora was watching me, but I didn't really care, feeling this beautiful bliss. I felt Roxass' hands grip my waist and feel his lips becoming a smile. I broke away and hugged him. For once, I could see the jealous look on Soras face over Roxass shoulder.
